1) Did you have any takeaways from the tribal council?
2) How do you see this tribe shaping up in terms of a boot order?
Pssssht, not a clue. I mean I have no real takeaways from TC other than that it went as expected, 6-3 blindside on Dale. I wasn't happy about Dale leaving, but he's extremely unreliable as a player and I've now seen a couple seasons worth of evidence to back me up on that. Do I think it's out of the realm of possibility that Richard and Tammy went to him trying to boot me or Mookie? Nah, it might've happened. My gut tells me they didn't actually want that, but that's only because of Dale showing me on a number of occasions that he lacks credibility in this game.
He seems like the kind of guy I'd get along with in real life, we have a similar competitive drive and tend to be really tough on ourselves sometimes, but he struggles in a big way to seem trustworthy as a player. At least to me, it's like he was constantly trying to prove himself to be playing different this time, just trying too hard to tell me he was loyal rather than showing me, and he's doing it in the exact same way he did last time (and we all saw how that turned out). A zebra don't change his stripes. Just from my small sample size with him, I feel like he lacks a certain subtle touch which is essential if you're looking to play that type of game.
I was relieved on some level to see him go, because I think in Indo, Joaq nailed it down best: Dale is the "mover and shaker". He NEEDS to be the straw that stirs the drink. He was going to be FINE tonight and probably for a long while just by keeping his yap shut, and I wanted it so bad since I do think he could've proven to be a short-term boon to my game if I played things right. Dale will always play hard no matter what's going on, and he is always going to try to make things happen, and that's what will make him repeatedly good ORG casting if he decides to play more games. A toast, to the TRUE most dominant force in Stranded Indonesia. To Dale Wentworth! #StayStrong
Indo down to 4 people left, only one of which is on Saipan. Me and Dan are now one of very few duos still left, though I imagine some focus will start to shift towards the singles soon enough. Love to see the Indonesia cast be whittled down as a side benefit to the uh... shenanigans that went down tonight, as it will shut you guys up at the next TC. No way Probst and Kelly have the balls to question me about Indonesia pacts now that Faroe is just ADDING more to their casting stranglehold, which will be in people's minds. Do I wonder if the vote went from Flicka to Dale in part due to her Faroe ties? Sure, I'd be an idiot not to at least notice that.
But yeah I do think duos could begin to stay tight to each other. Tammy was half-honestly hinting at that to me before I think, talking about how only 4 of the original 12 duos are still intact. I've gotten a bit lucky to be sure, but Dan is way above replacement-level as a player and one of the best players here, so it doesn't surprise me that we're one of the last remaining duos. I threw it out there to Tammy that you know what? Duos are gonna come under fire at the merge with those necklaces at stake, and waiting on a response. I have a gut feeling that Mikester and Shalomo are still good friends who are cut from that "loyal to my top girl" cloth, and I flat-out admitted to her: I'm loyal to Dan, I told her in so many words. I would love to meet back up with them at merge, and for her and Heidi to decide to work with us far into the game. Would be just another option worth exploring. I will NOT under any circumstances go against Dan or try to paint him in a more bootable light than myself, I just won't go there. I want to see what it's like to play a loyal game from start to finish, unless he gives me a reason not to.
So, Nate apparently found the idol, maybe kinda sorta. I was a little confused. I don't like the fact that he's trying to pigeonhole me into a leader role within our friendship, but I'll embrace it. I just have to make him want to stick with me. If he did get the idol, I'm glad I finally know where ONE of the idols is without having to waste more than a second looking for any of them. Makes me more confident going forward because I do think Mookie is a hard nut to crack. If he's the guy people are more likely to target than myself or Nate, it gives us some time to pick up the pieces if Saipan flips. I'd prefer to see... I guess Flicka go next, but I'm not opposed to maybe Penner if Mookie or Nate start having doubts, or if headway can be made with Flicka or Rachel. It's a fluid situation and I cannot begin to predict a boot order.
Gut feeling though? I think I WILL look to stick with Saipan for now.
