The first episode saw two inactive boots in Katie and Chris, which means Richard and Hayden are now permammune. No losses really seeing as those two didn't show up to play (sans chris's few hours in the game).
With the second immunity challenge, I really got the sense that the tribes are very evenly matched. They all did very well. Pohnpei would be the weakest right now if I had to name one of them.
Finally the game has started with the inactives out. It's interesting, because there are so many more players from recent seasons, I feel like we are getting players who have more to prove here. The one's who don't have much to prove typically try to lie low in the beginning. But we are finally seeing players coming out of the gate with strategy.
Pohnpei has EXPLODED since council when Nate found the idol. Going into their second council its not so easy. The allies cant just team up because what happens when they lose again? They'll have to turn on eachother with the 2 outliers both being immune. We are in for a treat.
I'd say everyone on that tribe is really playing hard right now with the exception of Sierra who hasn't been the most active. I'm really hoping Dan can manage to survive but this is not at all how I saw this tribe going. I'd also like to see Jessica survive, but if I had to guess both will be going out next.
I'm most impressed with Ozzy and Nate. I forgot how good those two were, although they had tons of acclaim, they aren't the biggest characters. So when you see their strategy in action, that's when you can truly appreciate them. Right now it looks like Nate is playing the best, but he's also calling all the shots which could end badly for him, but I see it working for the beginning portion of the game.
I really thought that Dan would be running things because he has so many connections but, he's really falling out of it quickly which is opening the game up to some interesting dynamics. Im kind of digging it.
Saipan won Immunity which is good, love everyone on that tribe. It's really the most diverse of the tribes and it shows. I love love LOVE Heidi right now, she's slaying and is giving us some much needed personality. Cassandra and Penner seem to be the power players on that tribe both in the ears of everyone. I'm really glad that Tammy showed up and came to play this challenge, I'm really hoping to see her do well here, I'd love to add her to the list of Legends. Like I said, I think Rich is playing a much stronger game this season. The two players who are in most trouble are Val and Nadiya. Their inexperience is showing.
They should be scrambling harder and they aren't. This is all-stars and everyone here is playing hard, just hiding and hoping you arent the target won't work like it did last time. Furthermore it seems like Val is more focused on getting Nadiya out than setting herself up long-term. These girsl really have a lot of work to do. One thing I will say is that Nadiya is used to being in control and she's on the bottom here. Last season when she was in the firing seat, she kind of had a break down and we are starting to see that, except it's not the final 7... it's the first council. I don't see Nadiya doing well, but I would LIKE to see her do well and I'd LOVE to see her become an underdog that can perservere. We're used to seeing her in the drivers seat, now let's see what happens with her back against the wall.
Now that Nauru has lost a challenge, we're finally getting to see them play. Some interesting things going on. It looks like Flicka has REALLY come to play. She has the most connections in the game, she's playing a lot more aggressively and it's working better for her. She's not being seen as the leader or the one calling the shots, but she's pushed for a Liliana boot and if liliana ends up going, it will be 100% because Flicka wanted her to. It's interesting because Liliana has NO IDEA that Flicka has any ill will towards her. I'm really disappointed if Liliana does go early, I feel like there is a lot more we could be seeing from her.
That said, I would rather Rachel stay than Liliana because i think she might have more to offer. IDK, it's a tough call. Both entertaining but not the most active. Liliana, to her credit, has been more active than Rachel. We'll see what happens there.
Dale and Drew seem to be the most powerful couple on the tribe, but I think Flicka is the one who is silently controlling things. Rocky needs to show up. Again I've been pleasantly surprised by Laura's will to play the game hard. I just wish she was here a bit more, but that can always change, she was pretty active in teh first episode.
