Wow - I've gone from down and out on Pohnpei to on top of things at the final 9. Last night we finally played Dan, the titular head of the opposition. As it stands right now, the alliance I am a part of (me, Tammy, Penner, Val, Ozzy, and Nate) has a two person advantage over the other players on the tribe, including Hayden, Sierra, Rocky, and Sugar. I suspect Sierra would be a target tonight just because she's clearly the only competent one of the four on the bottom, but she's immune tonight so that limits our options to Rocky, Sugar, or Hayden. I'm glad she's immune because I don't want her to go just yet, and trying to protect her could put my game in jeopardy.
Tonight, I suspect we're going to send Rocky home. He, Sugar, and Hayden are basically interchangeable, though I think Hayden is maybe an iota smarter, but I am a little more worried about Rocky getting dragged to the end than I am Sugar. Now that I think about it though, I think Hayden could be a jury threat among the alliance that is currently getting knocked off, so we may have to take him out sooner rather than later. For now, though, I sincerely believe that the six person alliance that has voted together the last two rounds is my best option going forward. It's also going to be important to keep Sierra around, as I'll probably need her around to get rid of Nate, who is close to penner.
The boot order would look something like this, in my mind:
10. Rocky
9. Hayden
8. Sugar
7. Nate
6. Sierra
5. Ozzy
4. Penner
3. Val
2. Tammy
1. Heidi, the winner
Possible? Maybe. At any point Tammy and I have to assume that someone is going to rebel against us and try to break us up. I'd look for this to happen at 9 or 7 people remaining, so I Tammy and I are going to have to be extra careful those rounds and make sure people know that we are a powerful two votes that can be used together. Also, I think I'm going to try to hang onto my immunity necklace until next round, so that should be a pass to the final 8 unless anything crazy happens.
And finally, I don't really want to talk about my job on something that's publicly readable, but I'll be happy to talk about it with anyone after the game in private.
